3 Day Weight Loss- Day 2 & 3

Today is Day 4, which doesn't exist, so yeah that means I am done! After doing something like this I am always so torn about how to move forward. I mean, I could just keep doing what I am doing, I lost 2.5 lbs in 3 days, but like I said this is a diet and for me is a bit too depriving. I would have trouble maintaining it for long. I was challenged by my husband to stay in my points for a whole month, so that is 28 points daily. Today I decided to have some of the items I had been craving, but do it with the mindset that I want to try and make more of my food choices zero point foods and I wanted to tackle the cravings I was having without overdoing it. Here were changes I made compared to what would have happened normally:

  • Instead of hot morning coffee with Torani syrup and milk, I opted for a cold coffee with Premier Protein as a creamer, saves me 3 points

  • Curling was cancelled, and my car pooling buddy suggested we go do lunch or coffee. I suggested she come to my place and I offered her leftover Zero point chili instead, saving many points I am sure, as I would have had a tough time ordering zero point foods. I avoided adding grated cheese to my chili, which I would normally do and instead of serving it with Tostitos, I made us each 1 piece of COBS high fiber toast with 1 tsp of I Can't Believe this is not butter. We also shared an apple and a mango and had

    tea. We rocked it, Judy!

  • For my afternoon snack, I had my high protein pudding, but opted for no granola, just 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds and a banana.

  • For supper we had turkey breast and veggie stir fry and I looked at my pre-bought marinade - oh, no! It is super points - gak! We think we are so healthy with a stir fry and then the sauce sends you into sugar oblivion apparently - gawd! So instead I grated ginger, garlic and orange rind onto my turkey and then juiced the orange into the veggies at the end. I ended with 1/2 tbsp of sesame seeds. This was SO boring for me, I can eat it, but it is like fuel, just do it for the energy.

  • For movie night I served up a Bubbly with mint leaves and lemon for myself and counted how many Ketchup Rice Cakes I could have - 1/2 bag I decided, which was 26. That scored 7 points. Normally I might have ginger beer or kombucha for movie night.

Final Total for "Day 4" = 25 points, leaving me with 3 extra. I will take that as a win. Tomorrow my plan is to eat the rest of the Zero point leftovers, chili, soup and stir fry as well and stick closer to zero points. Saturday I have salmon planned for supper, but know now that I have to start thinking about healthier lunches as well. Sunday we are having company and I opted to make the Zero point chili for that, very tasty and easy to make. Allows for some extra points to be spent on a drink or something if desired later. So I am thinking forward. Next step to buy more veggies and prep, as I am out again!

Good Job Laura. Keep working at stir fry sauce recipe and when you figure one out let me know haha.

I try not to think of it as being deprived when not eating “treat” foods. Mostly those foods are doing more harm then good and just causing cravings for more of them. Doesn’t mean I don’t miss a glass of wine though. I just tell myself the benefits of not having one.

Yes, it really is a mind game for me. I think that is why things like Ozempic are so tempting for people, it apparently stops the "food noise" we have. I can't even imagine going through a day without having a truckload of food thoughts rolling through my head. Going over the benefits of not having something is really smart, I just have to remember to do that in the moment. Thanks for the tip.
