Week 1 & 2 on Mounjaro

I am settling into week #2 of using Mounjaro and wanted to keep you guys in the loop.
Week#1 - Only a small bruise at the injection site the next day, but no pain. I didn't notice anything major at all this week. If I was analyzing my "food noise" I would say it was slightly less, and on Sunday when my dosage was likely almost gone, I did have crazy cravings and wanted to eat chips sooo badly. So compared to Sunday, my week was relatively good on the food cravings. I think a lot of that was my own mental attitude as I had researched that to help prevent nausea, you want to avoid rich, greasy or overly sweet foods. This helped keep me on track and it was easy to convince myself to make a healthy choice to prevent feeling yucky! As for bowel movements, they were slightly harder and less frequent. I chugged a Metamucil drink on Friday and that helped move things along. That isn't unusual for me though. So week 1 was really good overall. No weight loss as I was still eating my regular amount of food, albeit healthier choices.

Week #2 - An even smaller bruise than last week at the injection site. The novelty wore off quickly, and I seemed to forget that I was taking Mounjaro. One night I had pan-fried gnocchi for supper and did not feel great afterward. Did I eat too much, or was it too greasy? I think it may have been too much oil, and that left me feeling a bit yuck, but nothing out of control. The next day I had a potluck meeting, and I messed up again. I started my day rushing out the door and picked up a Tim's iced coffee and an apple fritter. So no protein to start my day - bad choice number 1. Then for lunch, I ate a normal amount, but the Caesar salad had garlic in it, which often upsets my stomach. I also had 3 desserts, again not unusual for me. By the time I was driving home, I was burping up garlic and had wicked heartburn - not a normal occurrence for me. I got home, had some Tums and a nap. I never did eat supper and never felt like eating supper. Normally, if I had a big lunch, I would still always have at least a snack by 8:00, but I was not hungry at all and felt bloated and yucky! I slept it off that night but felt fine the next morning. Again, my bowel movements are hard and lackluster this week, so I chugged more Metamucil, hoping that will help. Today, I was not hungry at all and did not think about food. I did not think Mounjaro would be working until I upped my dosage to 5mg, but it seems to be having some effect even at this level. I will give it a few more days before I weigh myself.
Reflecting back on my time so far, I am pleased overall. I am starting to learn what I can and should not do, which is great. I will be anxious to see what happens on the scale after a few more days like this.
Anyone out there using one of the GLP-1's? How has your experience been? If anyone is considering trying what I am, feel free to ask more questions.
